Beaver pond triptych

A triptych is a multi panel work, in this case I will mount them in individual shadow frames and hang them together to complete the scene. This was inspired by an “early snow” morning panoramic photo I captured of the beaver ponds along 58P, the gravel road that leads up to our property. I fastened the panels together while painting for continuity, as the whole work has to be brought along together.

As shown the painting is blocked in, mostly modeled and waiting for detailing.

When complete, I hope it will be mostly about the willow tree’s reflections in the foreground pond.

Silverton Alley Reflections- block in and completed painting

The initial block in is shown on the right.

As shown in the completed painting, I tried to employ shadow and light across the alley, shadow: to reduce vectors leading off the left and bottom of the painting and light: to accentuate the red barn focal point.

Ice bar

My art doesn’t stop with paintings, below are images of my Ice bar, I build this each year at the edge of our deck, it lasts throughout the winter months and fades with the coming of spring.
